For this project you will create a design that will fit into a 4x6 block print. Use black ink. Final print is a 4x6 or 6x4 on white bristol or regular white paper [not newsprint]. Your piece should be printed onto a sheet that has room for borders around your print area. Your print area should be above centered. I'm giving you some flexibility on this, but will grade you on your how well your mounting works. You should give about 2 inch borders on the sides, a 2 inch border on the top, and a 2.5 inch border on the bottom, but you can go more or less on that. Depending on whether you do a portrait or landscape [meaning vertical or horizontal with you print area], your dimensions will vary.
The subject of your design can be figurative or abstract. Consider your concept to be an advertisement for something/someone you love. You must use line and hatching to create at least 3 levels of "value" though because it's a print this value is more like Lichtenstein's implied value. You will be graded on how well you use line and hatching, and your ability to apply the principles of design to create a dynamic and balanced composition.
